The João Tostes Trio presents João Tostes on the ukulele, Diogo Fernandes on the basses and Felipe Moreira on the keyboard. The trio plays its own compositions and also famous Brazilian pieces in the instrumental way.

João graduated at Bituca – University of Popular Music, with the masters Ian Guest, Gilvan de Oliveira, the own Felipe Moreira. João’s work extends nationally through his project called “Toca Ukulele”, the biggest ukulele related project in Latin America, having already started the “Global”.

Diogo Fernandes studied at Bituca, having studied in the same institution with Gilvan de Oliveira and Enéias Xavier, and also graduated in Music by UFSJ (Federal University of São João del-Rei). He also works as a composer and arranger.

Felipe Moreira graduated at UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) and teaches piano, keyboard, musical perception and joint practice at Bituca – University of Popular Music, having already participated in countless recordings and shows, with artists such as Milton Nascimento, Amaranto, Lincoln Cheib, Renato Teixeira and Armandinho.

The trio is intensely united in a search of authentic songs, presenting innovative arrangements, providing a full and contagious musical experience to the listeners.

João is endorsed by Aquila Strings and Ohana Ukuleles, and he’s one of the most famous and respected ukers in Brazil, nowadays studying with James Hill at the JHUI (James Hill Ukulele Initiative) in Canada.

The first trio’s album will be released in May/2018, all original and instrumental songs. The first single and video clip is out:
